AeonAeon Illuminate

After the war, the expansionist military arm of the government lost much of its power. The Aeon empire, while large in size, was riddled with dissenters and radicals pushing in all different directions. To keep the government together, the military might of the Aeon army was merged with the civil law enforcement, and the Aeon Illuminate was born. Units were redesigned to respond quickly to reports of trouble, and apply punishment in large indiscriminate doses. Below highlights the major unit changes for Aeon.

Aeon ACU

Usually the first unit to appear on the scene of violence, the Aeon ACU is also usually the last to leave. Sporting a new upgrade to its shielding systems, the Phased Particle Inhibitor allows the ACU to hunker down and survive almost any assault. One of the most famous recorded uses of this equipment is that of an unrecognized Aeon ACU surviving the detonation of a nuclear weapon.

Also recognizing the critical need for swift reinforcements, Aeon scientists have upgraded the engineering suite of the ACU, not only allowing it to build at a slightly faster base rate, but also including a cheap 'Nanolathe' enhancement for the construction minded commander.

Land

Tech 1
  • Fervor Energy Artillery

While the use of pure energy as a source of ammunition for most Aeon units is a thing of technological wonder, it has a few flaws. Unwilling to replicate the delivery system of the UEF Lobo mobile artillery, the Aeon Illuminate nevertheless developed a new system that can deliver its payload in a quarter of the time. The heat buildup is severe, and the resulting cool down period is long, but at least the Fervor gets the damage out there immediately. A wise commander will recognize how vulnerable this leaves the Fervor after the first volley, and keep them carefully behind reinforcements.

  • Flare Combat Suite

Speed and mobility are the key to a successful Flare pilot, and the combat chassis has been upgraded to reflect this on-the-job requirement.

  • Aurora Hover Tank

Frequent malfunctions while hovering at top speed over water have forced the engineers to limit the Aurora's speed over water.

Tech 2
  • Obsidian Jump Tank

Relying on sophisticated technology and advanced lift systems, the Obsidian is not a tank to stand toe to toe with others. Lacking the armor and stealth of its Cybran and UEF counterparts, it never the less is a strong addition to the Aeon arsenal. For the first time ever, a practical personal teleporter has been fitted to a combat unit. While limited in range, and requiring a long time before it is ready to use again, the personal teleporter gives the Obsidian an edge unlike any other. An assault wave of tanks can suddenly be inside the perimeter of enemy tanks, or over land that is uncrossable by other means. Tanks under attack can teleport to safer ground and recharge their shields

Tech 3
  • Harbinger Assault Droid

Outfitted with a new kind of armor, the Harbinger is one of the most self sufficient units in the field. While fragile compared to similar combat units, the unique ability of the Harbinger to retreat and repair on the fly is unmatched in the hands of an experienced commander. Add to the mix lightning fast response time, high mobility, and a brutally effective main cannon, and the combination is enough to give a UEF commander nightmares

Tech 4
  • Sacred Colossus Quantum War Machine

More of a figurehead than a war machine, the Galactic Colossus has been the icon for Aeon military might. With new breakthroughs in Quantum based power generation, the Sacred Colossus has been refitted with a new Dilithium based energy crystal in its main eye. Now the Sacred Colossus is able to reign fire onto his enemies without having to stop.

Sea

Tech 1
  • Beacon Class Frigate

The Beacon class has undergone little change over the past few years. With the introduction of the Aurora hover tanks, the Beacon class is left in its own niche role. Small improvements to its main cannons are all that the Aeon are willing to do for this one glorious frigate.

  • Slyph Class Attack Submarine

Again, the Slyph has served its purpose with a strong record. Being the mainstay of the Aeon sub-surface fleet, the Slyph's only improvement is its increased hitting power of the new Quantum torpodoes. However, with such delicate new technology, reload times have become longer.

Tech 3
  • Redeemer Nuclear Submarine

The Redeemer is the upgraded Silencer with a vengeance. With 6 ICBM silos, it is a floating ship of death. Silent and unwavering, the Redeemer is able to strike anywhere and anytime at will against an unknowning foe.
